Hope
you have all had a great week. It is
always nice to visit with you and hear of your activities and all that you are
involved in. The weeks are passing by so
quickly. What a privilege and
opportunity to serve here on this sacred and beautiful property. We just can’t get enough of its beauty!
This last week has been filled to the
brim. Elder and Sister Christensen
arrived Monday afternoon and had dinner with us Monday evening. It is always so nice to visit with them.
Tuesday morning Elder Christensen went fishing with Elder Nielsen before our
meeting at 8:00 a.m. He had pretty good
luck (3 caught for each 4 casts). His facial expression spoke of his
excitement.

Tuesday
evening we had a wonderful dinner with Elder and Sister Christensen at the Work
Center. They both spoke to us. Sister Saline, who has been in charge of the
meals, had made fun centerpieces for the table.
They were logs cut in half with glass cylinder vases filled with wild
flowers from the property.
The
next day we had a Fish Fry for lunch.
The fish (50lbs) were provided by Steve Atkinson, the man in charge of
the ponds for Adam-ondi-Ahman.

He had
caught, filleted, and cooked the fish.
It was delicious. Sister Saline
decorated the tables again using the same logs as the night before and had
drilled holes to hold two little fishing poles.
Below the poles was a small bucket of gummy worms. She then had blue nets on the table with cups
of blue jello topped with whipped cream and gummy fish. After a delicious meal Steve talked to us
about how he maintains the forty ponds on the property with a variety of
fish. It is quite a science!
Wednesday
Elder Christensen and Kevin spent most of the day talking to Property Managers,
farmers, and some people in the community.
That evening Elder Christensen’s nephew who is a professional opera
singer came and preformed in the Gallatin ward some of the songs he had
sung. He had an amazing voice. It was a real treat for all that attended.
Thursday
we left after Prayer Meeting to attend a sealing session in the Kansas City
Temple with Elder and Sister Christensen.
After the session they went to catch their plane and the missionaries
went to lunch and then visited the Liberty Jail and Independence Visitors
Center.
Saturday
evening Elder Nilsen invited all the missionaries to a Hot Dog Roast down by
the largest pond. (Called it the 1st Annual) It was last minute but all attended and had a
wonderful evening visiting, eating and watching some of the men fish.

I
thought I would include a picture of Kevin’s latest project. He has been working on a Checker Board for
the last couple of weeks in his spare time.

He has enjoyed working with wood and learning how to use some of the
equipment here. The checkers were two
small pieces of wood glued together and then he made a circle on the lathe and
cut them out. I think he did a pretty
good job!
In
between all of our activities we have done some missionary work…. which
included indexing, lawn mowing, and other maintenance jobs.
That’s
our week in a nutshell. We are looking
forward to Andrew, Kandyce, and the boys coming this weekend along with some of
their friends. Hope you have a great
